At the heart of Scouting are hands-on, interactive activities. In Cub Scouts, there are opportunities to spend time as a family and to do things that help build upon the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
Your time is valuable. More than ever, today’s families struggle to find time to spend together. Cub Scouting helps to support your family by providing ready-made opportunities for you and your child to do together.
Make memories with your child that will last a lifetime.
Your child needs to belong to a group of children their own age. Through this sense of belonging, they build self-esteem and learn to get along with others. As a parent, you want to be assured that the groups your child joins will teach values consistent with good citizenship, character development, and physical fitness. The Boy Scouts of America has been weaving these lifetime values into fun and educational activities since 1910.
There are 3 key goals of Cub Scouting:
- Good Citizenship
- Positive Character Development
- Personal Fitness
Our Motto is: “Do Your Best”
Scouting teaches family values and works to strengthen your relationship with your child. We all know that children don’t join Cub Scouting just to get their character built.
Children join Scouting because it is FUN!

In den meetings and pack meetings, Cub Scouts make new friends, play purposeful games, and learn new things. Dens usually meet two times a month. All the dens in the pack come together once a month for a pack meeting.
Camping and Outdoor Adventures
Cub Scout families have opportunities to go camping and to participate in outdoor adventures. Lessons learned in the out-of- doors help to develop a life-long respect for the environment.
Pack 301 has a monthly Hiking Club that allows Scouts to participate in fun hikes throughout our metro area

Special Pack Events
Packs can put together special events and activities such as banquets, Pinewood Derby, and community service projects.

Other Events
Several packs may be invited to attend other special events such as a large community service project or Scout Show. These events are coordinated by a local council or district.
